A Letter from the Founder of My Colorado Springs

My Cosprings
A Letter from the Founder of My Colorado Springs

When I began @my_cosprings a little over a year ago, the goal was simple: To connect people to the treasures of our city.

Having moved to Colorado Springs from Atlanta only 5 years prior, I was surprised by hearing comments of how "there is nothing to do here". I noticed Colorado Springs abounding with new business and cultural events, but no community to bring it all together. So @my_cosprings Instagram began as an account that reposts photos by locals of local places, events, and things.

But it didn't stop there. Now My Colorado Springs has been asked to create more opportunities for our city to connect, and this is cause for celebration. I wholeheartedly believe Colorado Springs is a beautiful place to live and there is great potential to build a community around our local epicenter.

In addition to @my_cosprings , I am a hip-hop dance instructor/choreographer. Dance has been my number one passion since I began taking classes as a little girl. In Atlanta, hip-hop dance is everywhere- it's in the air we breathe- and when I moved to Colorado, I came to find pockets of it around. My hope is to build the dance community here as well. So if you have ever wanted to try hip-hop dance, or simply want to learn some moves you can use at a party or wedding, then I want to invite you to my upcoming Beginner's Hip-Hop Dance Workshop.

I am so grateful for our community that is here in Colorado Springs and I look forward to sharing more creative endeavors with you in the upcoming year!

Sincerely,
Lauren
